Sydney's Accident

Unfortunately, Sydney has found herself in a situation that has, at times, been life-threatening.  On Christmas Day, 2006, Sydney was involved in a single car accident when her car hydroplaned just north of Eminence as she was on her way to visit family.  So far Sydney has been in ICU since the accident.  She is recovering from a lacerated liver, diaphragm, broken scapula, pneumonia, a bacterial infection, and an infection involving her diaphragm.  But the most serious of her injuries involves a brain injury.  Many of you have spent much time involved in prayer for Sydney.  God has heard those prayers and is answering them.  Sydney is improving daily.  Along the way she has had setbacks, surgery on her diaphragm and to put her liver back where it should be.  Then on Saturday, January 6, a scope to see what was going on with her abdomen, which thankfully turned out to be only infection and fluid.  Fortunately, the week of January 8, 2007, has been the week of turn around for Sydney and real week of hope for her family.  Sydney has begun to show real signs of becoming conscious.  Showing us thumbs up, sticking out her tongue, being moved from her bed to a chair to sit for a while, squeezing our hands and turning her body.  Please continue to pray as Sydney’s brain continues to heal.  Pray for full recovery, please!
